ACCESSIBILITY

1. Our Commitment

Mackenzie Lauren Creative ("we," "us," "our") is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We want every visitor to be able to view our work, learn about our services, and contact us or apply to work with us independently and with dignity. We treat accessibility as an ongoing responsibility and not a one-time task.

2. Standard We FoLLow

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version [2.1 or 2.2], Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, motor, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities. We also work toward the requirements of Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act and applicable California law, including the Unruh Civil Rights Act.

3. Current Conformance Status

Our website is partially conformant with WCAG [2.1/2.2] Level AA. "Partially conformant" means some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the standard. We are working to resolve those parts, which are described in Section 6. We do not claim that every page or feature is fully accessible at all times, and we will update this statement as our status changes.

4. Measures We Take

We take the following steps to support accessibility:

  • We include accessibility in our design and content process.

  • We review new pages, images, forms, and features before publishing.

  • We provide text alternatives for meaningful images and mark decorative images so assistive technology can skip them.

  • We use a logical heading structure and clear link text.

  • We check color contrast and text size.

  • We test keyboard navigation, including a visible focus indicator and a skip-to-content link.

  • We limit or provide controls for motion, animation, and auto-playing media, and we honor reduced-motion settings where our tools allow.

  • We label form fields and provide clear instructions and error messages.

5. Compatibility

Our website is designed to work with current versions of major browsers and assistive technologies, including [list browsers, e.g., Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge] and screen readers such as [list, e.g., VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS], on desktop and mobile devices. The site relies on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to work as intended.

6. Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Known issues include:

  • Animated content: Some animated images and moving text may not yet offer a pause control. We are searching for solutions to fix this problem currently.

  • Third-party content: Some content is provided by outside services and is outside our direct control (see Section 7).

If you encounter a barrier not listed here, please tell us (see Section 8).

7. Third Party Content and Platforms

Our website is built on Squarespace and may include content, embedded media, scheduling or form tools, social media feeds, or links from other providers, including Instagram. We do not control the accessibility of these third-party services. We select providers with care and ask for accessible options where we can. If a third-party feature prevents you from accessing information or services, contact us and we will provide the information or service another way.

8. Feedback and Contact

We welcome comments, questions, and reports of accessibility barriers. Please contact us with:

  • Email: hello@mackenzielauren.com

When you write, please include the web address of the page, a description of the problem, the device, browser, and assistive technology you were using, and your preferred way to be reached. You do not need to disclose a disability or any medical information.

Our response: We will acknowledge your message within [two] business days and aim to respond substantively or give a timeline for a fix within [ten] business days. We will not retaliate against anyone for raising an accessibility concern.

9. Alternative Formats and Assistance

If you cannot access any content or feature on our website, we will provide the same information or service in an alternative way at no charge. Options include email, phone, accessible PDF or Word versions, or a scheduled call]. We will work with you to find a format that meets your needs. This includes assistance with our application and inquiry processes.

10. Accessibility of Our Services and Events

This statement covers our website and digital materials. For wedding coordination and events, physical accessibility depends largely on the venues, vendors, and spaces involved. We encourage clients and guests to tell us about accessibility needs early. We will make reasonable efforts to coordinate accommodations with venues and vendors. Final facility accessibility remains the responsibility of the venue operator.

11. Technical Specifications

Accessibility of this website relies on the following technologies: HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS, and JavaScript. These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the standard stated above.

12. Assessment Approach

We assess accessibility using self-evaluation, automated testing tools, and manual testing.

13. Ongoing Improvement

We maintain a remediation plan for the issues listed in Section 6 and update this statement when issues are fixed or new ones are found. We re-evaluate after redesigns or major content changes.

14. Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may seek assistance from the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division or the California Civil Rights Department. Nothing in this statement limits any right you have under law.

15. Legal Notice

This statement describes our good-faith efforts and goals. It is not a guarantee of any level of accessibility and is not a contract. Nothing in it is an admission of any legal violation or a waiver of any right or defense available to us. Nothing in it waives or limits your rights under applicable law. We reserve the right to update it at any time, and the date above shows the most recent revision.
